The Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN) is an entirely new purpose-built facility adjacent to the Monash University campus and the Australian Synchrotron at Clayton, Victoria. The facility houses class cleanroom and biological laboratory environments. It was opened in July 2010 and operates the largest purpose-built cleanroom complex in the Southern Hemisphere. The outputs of the MCN are a range of devices and integrated systems in the environmental and medical sensor areas, basic micro electromechanical systems, and solar cell and energy areas.
