Bulla Landfill, a privately owned EPA licenced landfill, operates in the City of Hume. Ace Environmental Services constructed two landfill cells, with a total area of 9,000m2, in accordance with the EPA approved design, specification and Quality Assurance Plan. Construction of the cells required meticulous design and adherence to strict standards to meet the EPA third party auditing process. It entailed the following:
- Excavation of subgrade
- Placement of a compacted earthen layer
- Installation of a geosynthetic liner
- Installation of leachate collection system
- Installation of geosynthetic filter fabric over the leachate collection system
