Springvale Botanical Cemetery – Botanical Hill Stage 2

Stage 2 of the Botanical Hill Development built on the successful completion of Stage 1, further expanding the memorial and visitor facilities at Springvale Botanical Cemetery. The project extended the cemetery’s botanical garden landscape, creating new burial and memorial areas while enhancing the visitor experience through thoughtfully integrated infrastructure and amenities.

Works included the construction of stone-clad retaining walls, new roads and car parking areas, landscaped memorial gardens, underground water and drainage services, pathways, seating, and other visitor amenities that complement the cemetery’s natural setting.

Key Components delivered include:

• Site clearing and bulk earthworks
• Stormwater and subsoil drainage infrastructure
• Access roads, including concrete kerbs and channels, crushed rock and asphalt pavement
• Bored piles, precast concrete retaining walls and concrete “monumental graves”
• Irrigated garden beds and turfed “lawn graves”
• Granitic gravel pathways and Castlemaine stone wall cladding
• Site furnishings including seating, drinking fountains and bollards
