Burwood Brickworks

Aiming to be the “world’s most sustainable shopping centre”, Burwood Brickworks is targeting full accreditation under the Living Building Challenge and a 6 star GreenStar rating. The shopping centre consists of a basement and 2 upper levels. The centre houses 30 speciality stores in addition to; Woolworth’s, Reading Cinema, Dan Murphy’s and the Urban Farm, restaurant and cafe.

ACE Civil was involved in the following scope of works:

• Ground and civil works at Burwood Brickwork’s shopping centre adhering to both a 6 Star Green Star Design and As Built rating and full certification (7 Petals) under the Living Building Challenge.
• 16,000 m3 Bulk earthworks
• Pilling and shotcrete walls and 7000 m2 car park construction
• Bio-retention swales
• Kerbing and edging
• Wheelstops
• Bollards.
