ACE was engaged by the Northwest Program Alliance (NWPA), led by John Holland, as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project that eliminated four level crossings at Bell Street, Munro Street, Reynard Street and Moreland Road. The project elevated a 2.5km section of rail, delivered new stations at Coburg and Moreland, and transformed the corridor into vibrant open spaces featuring shared paths, community amenities, and extensive landscaping.
Working across six key areas between Coburg and Moreland Stations, ACE delivered:
- Profiling and removal of approximately 70,000 tonnes of existing hardstand.
- Installation of underground drainage, communications, electrical and lighting services.
- Construction of 12,000m² of shared user paths, bike paths, footpaths and station concourse concrete in both standard grey and exposed aggregate finishes.
- Construction of three car parks.
- Delivery of hardscape features including decorative retaining walls, stairs, tiered seating, paving and rock walls.
- Earthworks, swales, basins, lawn areas, garden beds and landscaping, including the planting of over 100,000 trees and plants.
- Installation of public amenities including drinking fountains, park benches, bike repair stations and table tennis tables.
