Supply and Install of Standby Generator

The City of Whitehorse located in Melbourne’s middle eastern suburbs owns and operates several buildings and related infrastructure. The backup generator located at the councils Civil Centre required an upgrade to ensure reliability and compliance with current regulations and standards.

Ace Electrical was appointed as the head contractor for the upgrade works.

Ace Electrical was involved in the following scope of works:       

  • Removal of redundant electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures and fittings.
  • modification to switch room to comply with current regulation and standards.
  • Decommission and remove old standby generator.
  • Liaise with United energy for shutdown and upgrade of existing power supply transformer onsite.
  • Supply and install new underground pits and conduits
  • Design and build new generator concrete pad.
  • Modification to existing switchboard to accommodate new generator
  • Design, fabricate, supply and install new Automatic Transfer Switch
  • Supply and installation of new 605KVA standby generator complete with noise attenuation enclosure.
  • Integration of generator into site building management system (BMS)
  • Testing and commissioning of the new system
  • Quarterly inspection and servicing for 12 months.
