Talbot Railway Station

Following a community campaign, the Victorian government initiated the reopening of the Talbot train station, after being disused for 20 years.

The new Talbot Station features a new platform, shelter, car park, bus and taxi bay, and a bus stop on Railway Street.

The new station was built just north of the old railway station.  This enabled the historical railway station to remain untouched, thus allowing the existing local museum and a nursery business to continue.

ACE Infrastructure was involved in the following scope of works:

  • Planning, design, construction and commissioning of all infrastructure works necessary to enable V/Line to operate passenger services at Talbot Station.
  • The project required the construction of new, and modification of existing infrastructure necessary to allow the existing passenger rail service between Ballarat and Maryborough to stop at Talbot.
  • Ace managed and supported design consultants, to ensure the client’s requirements and time constraints were adhered to.
  • Ace also supported V/Line during various onsite community consultation meetings.

This project highlights Ace’s ability to undertake a complete design and construct project.
