Following a community campaign, the Victorian government initiated the reopening of the Talbot train station, after being disused for 20 years.
The new Talbot Station features a new platform, shelter, car park, bus and taxi bay, and a bus stop on Railway Street.
The new station was built just north of the old railway station. This enabled the historical railway station to remain untouched, thus allowing the existing local museum and a nursery business to continue.
