Project Completion Dandenong Park

Ace Contractors Group Pty Ltd > Blog > Project Completion Dandenong Park
Ace Landscape were engaged by Greater Dandenong City Council to continue construction from stage 2 of the public open space plan for Dandenong Park. Stage 3 was completed in October 2020 and continued with the theme of high-end designer steel work, flowing brick walls and exposed pathways. The Stage 3 park pays homage to the long history of the park which was originally constructed in 1873. Since then the park has played host to many important public facilities including a kindergarten, bowls club, and performance stage named after Stan Prior (a local musical identity). These facilities have all been honoured in the refurbishment with the original gates from the bowls club been given a new lease on life to once again stand tall in the park land, the original kindergarten sign was given a new lease on life, and the brand new stage dedicated to Stan Prior.

A key feature of the park is the new steel entry pillars that reflect the very original timber picket fence which acted as the entry to the park for many years, and will cast a shadow on the pathway in front of it at 2pm each day.

As is has for the last 140+ years, Dandenong Park will continue to be a place of enjoyment and relaxation for the entire community.
