Lawrie Emmins Motorcross Track

The Lawrie Emmins Reserve’s motor cross track was abandoned in 2008. Since, then the derelict area become a hotspot for dumping and other illegal activities. In mid-2017, Wyndham City Council announced a  20-year master plan to upgrade the Reserve, which is to include bike tracks, a velodrome, playgrounds, picnic areas, a botanical garden, and many other features to help transform this area.

ACE Infrastructure was involved in the following scope of works:

• Strip away all the overground vegetation in a 50,000m2 area
• Undertake the management of contaminated material through bulk earthworks
• Soils contaminated with heavy metals were placed 0.5m below finished design level across the track area, before being covered with a warning geofabric and then clean fill.
• Construction of a new car park
• Irrigation system
• Construction of office and storage units
• Footpath development
• Landscaped area
• Drainage system
