Cardinia Estate is a new development in Officer. ACE’s completed landscaping project will provide open space and playground facilities to local families in the surrounding area, encouraging opportunities for physical activity and providing a gathering space for families to socialise.

ACE’s scope of works included:

• Bulk earthworks – 2,500m3
• Drainage works
• Concrete pavements and walls
• Street furniture (shelters, drinking fountains, picnic seating, bike hoops, bins and bollards)
• Playground equipment
• Soft landscaping including garden beds, lawns, planting and trees
• 2-year maintenance period

ACE were able to implement a number of environmental sustainability initiatives on this project. Site-won topsoil was ameliorated as required and reused as garden bed soil. This not only reduced the amount of soil to be transported via trucks onto site, but dramatically reduced the amount of cut to be exported from site.
Recycled bush mulch was utilised in the garden beds, and water crystals were used during planting to reduce the amount of water supply required through irrigation.
