ACE successfully delivered the comprehensive reconstruction and rehabilitation of approximately 2,800m of Operations Road, extending from the Airservices Australia Melbourne (AAM) compound in the north to 95 Operations Road in the east. The project involved intensive structural upgrades, pavement resurfacing, critical drainage modifications and safety upgrades to enhance long-term road durability and safety.
Project Highlights:
- Revitalised a major transit corridor from the AAM compound to the95 Operations Road.
- Delivered 900m of full-depth pavement construction alongside 1,900m of premium pavement rehabilitation.
- Utilised lime stabilisation on subgrade clay to completely eliminate the need for traditional subgrade excavation and Type A capping layers.
- Drastically minimised the amount of contaminated material being handled and disposed of.
- Achieved final CBR strength values that significantly exceeded strict project requirements.
- Upgraded the parallel roadside swale network and integrated advanced subsoil drainage infrastructure.
- Identified existing roadside hazards and installed new safety guardrail systems.
